Corfe Castle Pub The Greyhound Inn has introduced its long-awaited summer menu, which brings a flavorful explosion to the historic village. The menu’s unique new addition is the Carolina Reel burger.
The inn is in the picturesque landscape of Dorset. The Greyhound Inn has long been a destination for locals and tourists. They seek traditional British hospitality and innovative food. This season, the pub aims to exceed expectations with various fresh, seasonal dishes, with the Carolina Reel burger poised as the star.
The Carolina Reel is not just a burger; it’s a culinary journey crafted from the inspiration of Grenville, the owner of The Greyhound. While visiting a famous BBQ restaurant in North Carolina, Grenville tasted a flavour. It would soon be the centrepiece of his summer menu. He tried the pulled pork and loved its rich, complex flavours. They were from the Carolina gold BBQ sauce—a regional speciality. After receiving the recipe from the friendly staff, Grenville returned this treasure to Dorset. There, The Greyhound’s chefs added their twist.
The result is a mouth-watering creation. It features a 14-hour slow-cooked, spice-rubbed pork shoulder. It is meticulously hand-pulled and nestled within a toasted brioche-style bun. This succulent pork is complemented by crisp lettuce, fresh red onion, and a generous helping of the authentic Carolina gold BBQ sauce. The burger comes with seasoned skin-on fries and a house-made summer slaw. They complete a dish that looks and tastes great.
The Greyhound Inn invites everyone to try the vibrant flavours of its new menu, which highlights the Carolina Reel burger. It’s a testament to the power of global culinary influences mixing with local craftsmanship.
